Germany Warns Against IE

The German government has warned users against using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer

In an unusual move, the German Federal Government has put a notice up on its website telling its citizens not to use Microsoft’s Internet Explorer browser until the company offers up a patch that will help fix a security breach that attacks Google Inc.

According to the website, a hacker can break into the site even if IE is in safe mode.
Microsoft has put out a statement refuting the Government’s argument, saying the risk is negligible, and that IE’s current security settings would stop any attack of note.
Microsoft’s next update for its security settings in due on February 9.
