YouTube has announced plans to enforce stricter standards on mature content – with sexually suggestive content to only be available to the over 18s.

Commenting on their Blog YouTube said:

“Videos with sexually suggestive (but not prohibited) content will be age-restricted, which means they’ll be available only to viewers who are 18 or older,”

The site also plans to remove vids that contain sexually suggestive content or profanity from their “Most Viewed” or “Top Favourited” lists.

Those who post up explicit content could also face banning from the site. Repeat violators of the new rules will have their accounts terminated.
