Yamaha Streams 1000s Of Radio Stations

Yamaha’s latest offering in the multi-zone space supports new HD audio formats and upscales to 1080p

Yamaha Music Australia new multi-zone network receiver features 1080p-upscaling HDMI, a new easy to use graphical user interface, Ethernet connectivity and supports the new HD audio formats from DTS and Dolby Laboratories including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio; Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio.

The RX-V2065 will upscale analogue video sources to output at full HD 1080p resolution which will improve analogue sources. It also supports Deep Colour providing 30 and 36-bit colour depths, allowing the rendering of billions of colours for greater picture accuracy. Ensuring smoother image transitions, the RX-V2065 supports 24Hz refresh rate, the native refresh rate for film sources such as Blu-Ray.

By accessing the internet through its Ethernet port the unit can stream thousands of internet radio stations from across the globe in MP3 or WMA format. You can also access WAV, WMA, FLAC, AAC, MP3 or WMA music stored on your local PC. Simply install Windows Media Player 11, share your stored music content and you can listen to your entire collection in stunning hi-fi quality.

As well as accessing your music library through iPod, USB, Network and Bluetooth, the RX-V2065 can deliver full HD 1080p video and high definition audio courtesy of its five HDMI inputs. There’s even a HDMI input on the front panel – perfect for portable devices or gaming consoles. Two simultaneous HDMI outputs allow you to feed 1080p video to two screens at once, and three independent zones can each enjoy their own music sources at the same time.

Yamaha’s new RX-V2065 features 3D DSP mode. Activating the 3D DSP mode activates the front presence speakers, offering a full front sound stage. When listening to hi-fi sources, the experience is similar to being in a concert hall, whilst for movie sources; the heightened sound stage provides a more encompassing audio experience.

Audio integrity is important to Yamaha and with Digital ToP-ART and High Current Amplification philosophies, the RX-V2065 certainly delivers here. Pure Direct takes this philosophy even further. Activating this function causes the signal to bypass all but the most basic audio circuitry, even shutting down all video to provide the most pure audio signal.

With so many sources of entertainment the RX-V2065 offers an easy way to access them all. The graphical user interface (GUI) allows you to easily set the system up, switch inputs and navigate your music library, while the SCENE function can power up your whole system and make all the necessary settings for your chosen task at the push of a single button.

The RX-2065 is rated at 7x130W with distortion rates of 0.06% at 8ohms over the full frequency range of 20Hz-20kHz. It incorporates Yamaha’s proprietary YPAO Sound Optimisation, HDMI CEC functionality, automatic Lip Sync through other compatible HDMI devices, dialogue lift, Compressed Music Enhancer for MP3 listening and 17 DSP programmes.
