- Use older operating system
- Xperia P will have NFC capabilities
- Xperia U comes with Sony 3D surround sound
Sony Mobile has released two new models from its Xperia range – the new Xperia P and Xperia U, but neither will have the latest Android operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich. Instead they will come with the older Gingerbreak OS, but will be upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich soon.
With an aluminiumunibody design, Xperia P debuts WhiteMagic display technology, which is said to deliver the brightest viewing experience; whether at the beach or on the ski slopes.
It is also said to have smart power efficiency that automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen to the surroundings to conserve battery life.
The Xperia P is NFC-enabled and comes with two NFC Xperia SmartTags, which users are free to customise to suit. By touching an NFC-enabled Android smartphone on a SmartTag, a pre-configured profile in the smartphone will launch and the two SmartTags included with Xperia P can be customised with up to 10 commands.
