Sony today announced the SmartWatch 2, the company’s second generation smart watch at Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai, China.
This gadget features a 1.6-inch screen with a resolution of 220 x 176 pixels and primarily functions as a second screen for connected and devices. With the SmartWatch, users will be able to handle phone coals, take photos, control presentations, read emails, adjust media players and use apps with their connected device from the watch.
Users will also be interchangeable 24mm wristbands to choose from as well as NFC technology for easy pairing and connecting with other NFC-enabled devices. Sony says the SmartWatch’s battery can last for 5-6 days with low usage and 3-4 days with “typical” use.
The Sony SmartWatch 2 is scheduled for release this September with information on pricing to be disclosed at a later date.
