Sol Trujillo leaves his CEO position at Telstra a month early
New Zealand-born David Thodey has today taken up his role as CEO of Telstra a one before he was due to, because former CEO Sol Trujillo has headed home.
The Telstra website said “Mr Trujillo had agreed to stay at Telstra until 30 June, but the appointment of an internal candidate as the new CEO meant a smooth and swift transition was possible.”
Thodey will be replaced as Group Managing Director (GMD) of Telstra Enterprise and Government by Nerida Caesar, who will take leave until she begins in her new role on June 9. Caesar was recently appointed GMD of Telstra Wholesale.
In accordance with the ASX Listing Rules, a copy of Thodey’s contract will be lodged with ASX when it is finalised.
Glenn Osborne has been appointed Acting GMD, Telstra Wholesale, effective immediately. Osborne was previously Executive Director of Telstra Wholesale Sales.
