Samsung Takes Smartphone War To Apple

  • Shop open for 7 days
  • $2 Galaxy SII’s for sale
  • Only metres from Apple Store

Apple has just opened a pop-up shop in George St in Sydney within spitting distance of the Apple store.

With both companies at each other’s throats over patent issues with Samsung’s latest Galaxy Tab, some would see this as Samsung’s big “get even”. To rub salt into the wound the Korean-based company was selling its high-end Galaxy SII at a nominal price of $2.

Samsung claims the point of setting up the shop was to push its new Samsung Music Hub and get for consumers to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy S II, which is givingt he iPhone a run for its money having sold over 10M units worldwide.

Customers will also be able to get a coffee at the pop up shop on us – there'll be a barista on hand every day between 10.30am and 2.30pm.

Up until this Friday (October 14), the first 10 Samsung Galaxy S II smartphones sold at the pop up shop were sold for only $2.
