Samsung Monitor Continues 3D Revolution

  • Renders 2D images to 3D
  • Screen automatically adjusts brightness
  • TA9 can receive television signals

Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the local availability of its new range of LED monitors – the 3D capable SA 9 Series and Smart Hub-enabled TA 9 Series, as well the hC (CA 5) entral Station monitor.

Samsung’s SA 9 Series monitors – available in 23-inch and 27-inch configurations – offer full HD 1920×1080 resolution and 3D playback from a variety of 3D content including 3D video games, movies and user-created 3D content such as photos and videos.

The SA 9 Series can automatically analyse and render 2D content in real-time to 3D, supporting PC content and also content from compatible Blu-ray players, gaming consoles and set-top boxes. It includes a built-in glasses sync emitter, and is packaged with a pair of 3D active-shutter glasses supporting Full HD picture quality.

It features a metallic-silver finish and a slim, asymmetrical design. The Eco Light Sensor feature helps to create a comfortable viewing environment by automatically adjusting the brightness of the LED-edgelit screen based on ambient lighting, turning the display on or off when a user is within, or has left, the vicinity of the monitor.

Featuring a metallic-silver finish on an unexpectedly bold, asymmetrical design, the TA 9 Series features a 27-inch 3D LED monitor that offers full HD 1920×1080 resolution. The monitor also offers realistic 3D playback on a variety of 3D content, including 3D video games, 3D movies, 3D TV and user-created 3D content like photos and videos. A wide viewing angle (170-degrees/160-degrees) provides brightness and colour from almost any position.

The TA 9 Series can also receive TV broadcast signals – including 3D broadcast signals – through a built-in Full HD digital tuner. It also includes a number of other connectivity options, including HDMI, USB and cable inputs. The monitor is internet-enabled, with access to Samsung’s Smart TV features that allow users to navigate YouTube and social networking services like Facebook and Twitter, or to download a variety of apps via the Samsung Apps store. The display also includes AllShare and ConnectShare features which allow users to sync and share content with other DLNA-enabled devices.

Like a docking station, CA 5 Series monitors serve as a hub that easily connects a user’s laptop to a range of compatible devices without the hassle of plugging and unplugging multiple cables every time. After the initial setup, when the user connects LAN and audio cables to the Central Station monitor, the system is primed for instant use the next time the user is ready to connect; all the user has to do is connect his or her laptop to the Central Station using a single USB connection.

Among the many input and output options offered by the Central Station, the CA 5 Series supports USB 3.0 technology, which enables users to transfer data 10 times faster than by USB 2.0, and to charge compatible mobile devices. The CA 5 Series Monitor is available in a 27-inch or 23-inch LED screen.
