After Samsung’s Tab 3 Kids launched a couple of months ago, it’s now Polaroid’s turn to get another kid-friendly tablet into the market with its Kids Tablet 2.

The device is built around a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The tablet packs a dual-core 1.6GHz Cortex-A9 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board storage. There’s also a SD card slot, front and rear cameras, Wi-Fi, a front-mounted speaker and a rechargeable Li-ion polymer battery.

The tablet also comes pre-loaded with content from a number of publishers including Disney, Marvel and Cartoon Network. There are over 70 popular books and apps that feature numerous popular cartoon and comic book characters from Ironman, Spiderman, Toy Story, Wreck-It Ralph and Cars. As with other child-oriented consumer electronics, the tablet features a simple to set-up parental control that creates a safe environment for children.

The Polaroid Kids Tablet 2 will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and will be available at ToysRUs for around US$149 just in time for the holiday season.
