Lenovo Releases Android-Powered Ideatab Slates
Ideatab S2110 is one of several Android-powered slates from Lenovo that was revealed at the IFA Berlin 2012 trade. It comes with a detachable keyboard dock plus an an additional battery, making it a rival to the Asus Transformer Prime, docked in a similar hybrid tablet/laptop category.
One of the thinnest 10.1 tablets around, measuring just 8.67mm thick, the unit weighs 580g. This slate also features a 10-point multi-touch 1280×800 IPS display, which Lenovo claims makes this slate ideal for two-player gaming.
S2110 is powered by 1/56GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor that runs the Ice Cream Sandwich version of the Android platform,there is one gigabyte RAM, and it comes with a Micro-HDMI port with full 1080p output support. For storage there and transferring of files there is an SD card reader and a micro-USB port. As well as a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with a LED-based flash, this tablet has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, with either16GB or 32GB of internal storage.
Battery life is claimed to last up to 10 hours and connectivity features are wifi and Bluetooth 4.0.
Also released were the A-series, A2107 and A2109, which are made from metal alloy enclosures and are 7-inch and 9-inch slates, respectively.
The A2109 uses NVIDIA Tegra 3, 1080p output through its Micro-HDMI port, and two speakers. Measuring 236x164x11.65mm, this slate weighs 570g. Its other features include a 1.3-megapixel front and 3-megapixel rear-facing camera, dual microphones, GPS, a Micro USB port. There is also an 8-gigabyte or 16-gigabyte of storage with MicroSD card support for up to 32-gigabyte additional storage.
The smaller Ideatab model is said to be designed for reading, web browsing, and email, and comes with a standard version and a model with 3G support.
Inner hardware of the A2107 features a Cortex-A9 core 1GHz processor that comes with a PowerVR SGX531 graphics chip and either 512MB (Wi-Fi) or 16GB (3G) RAM. The display of this 7-inch Ideatab is a 1024×600 four-point multi-touch.
Like the A2109, the A2107 sports a front- and rear-facing camera, with 0.3-megapixel and 2-megapixel, respectively. Then the A2107 optionally offers 4GB or 16GB of eMMC storage standard, Micro USB, MicroSD that can support up to 32GB, built-in FM radio, and up to eight-hour battery life. The dimension of this model is 192x122x11.5mm with a 400g weight.
