Lenovo’s ThinkPad X121e laptop is designed for students and mobile professionals in large organisations.
It offers second generation Intel Core processors, business-class versions of the Windows 7 operating system and a host of security layers including Intel anti-theft technology, Hardware Password Manager and Rescue and Recovery. In addition, the ThinkPad X121e offers an optional fingerprint reader for more secure log-in versus using passwords.
The laptop is equipped with a range of connectivity options including WiFi, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet and an integrated Ericsson F5521gw mobile broadband quad-band card supporting speeds of up to 21 Mbps. To play multimedia on the big screen, they include HDMI out and also include a host of USB ports and slots for connecting to other devices. And for longer keep working time, they can run over nine hours on a charge.
Other features include a low-light sensitive web camera, noise suppressing keyboard, microphone mute key and the ThinkVantage Communications Utility 2.0. This combination of tools allows users to hold conference calls in low light, keep keyboard clicking noises at bay, hold calls in individual or multiple speaker mode and adjust the camera settings.
To manage wireless connections while mobile, users can close the laptop lid, putting the system into ‘standby’ mode, and the PC will maintain an active wireless connection for a period of time, defined by the user. This ensures immediate reconnection when returning from ‘standby’.
The unit uses more than 10 percent recycled content, it meets EPEAT U.S. specifications for the Gold rating, is Greenguard certified and meets Eenergy Star guidelines.
