iTunes Gets Top Gear App

  • BBC gets into app game
  • Includes Top Gear Stunt School app
  • Teletubbies also make an appearance

BBC Worldwide has introduced some new apps to the iTunes store for adults and children alike.

To celebrate the Royal Wedding, a special version of the Weakest Link game has been developed. The Weakest Link: Royal Wedding Edition is now available and features 10,000 trivia questions, 1,000 of them devoted to William and Kate's upcoming nuptials.

There’s something for the kids with Teletubbies: My First App, allowing children to interact with the game by making Tubby Custard, chasing the Teletubbies up and down hills or finding funny noises.

Children can also explore the enchanting world of In the Night Garden with characters Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka. Featuring many of the locations from the show including the Stepping Stone Path and the Tombliboo Bush, children can dance with their favourite characters, play counting games with the Pontipines and much more.

The Top Gear: Stunt School app is a best seller, generating positive user comments on the iTunes store and a 4.5 star user rating. The app encourages users to try ridiculous car stunts, with over two billion different combinations of upgrades and add-ons for users to modify their car to try to beat the challenges.

The depth of digital apps and games available through iTunes demonstrates BBC Worldwide’s commitment to its digital strategy, providing yet another platform for audiences to experience their favourite television programmes online.
