Instagram To Start Serving Ads On US Market
The days of ad-free Instagram will soon come to an end, at least for those in the United States. Instagram announced today that ads will soon be served to U.S. Instagram feeds. The move to serve ads on the network is in line with the company’s goal to make its business “more sustainable”, which basically means seeing the occasional ad in one’s newsfeed.

Instagram announced today that ads will soon be served to U.S. Instagram feeds. The move to serve ads on the network is in line with the company’s goal to make its business “more sustainable”, which basically means seeing the occasional ad in one’s newsfeed.
Instagram also said they will gradually show ads and we’ll focus on delivering a small number of beautiful, high-quality photos and videos from a number of brands that are already great contributors of the network. Furthermore, Instagram added that the delivery of the ads will be designed to make it as natural as possible to users.
And similar to Facebook News Feed ads, users will still have control of the type of ad that will be shown in the Instagram feed. Users will be able to hide the ads and provide feedback on why they chose to hide the ad. Instagram says they will be relying on user inputs in order to continually improve the network’s user experience.
There’s no specific date on when the ads will roll out outside the U.S. but it’s only a matter of time until you see an ad on Instagram.
