  • Designed for home and enterprise
  • Available in June
  • Super-fast processing power

Buffalo, a company that specialises in the design, development and manufacturing of storage and wireless networking solutions, has announced the launch of its TeraStation 5000 and 7000 series.

The TeraStation 5000 and 7000 series are claimed to have fast CPUs and up to 36TB of storage, the TeraStation 5000 and 7000 series natively supports Windows Active Directory for improved backups, file sharing, storage and disaster recovery.

The TeraStation 7000 series comprise the TS-2RZH with Quad-Core 3.4 GHz CPU and the TS-2RZS with Quad-Core 3.1GHz CPU for super-fast processing.

Buffalo TeraStations are also designed to create back-ups of backed up data.  When two TeraStations are linked, in the event the main one fails, the second one automatically takes over, working to minimise downtime.

The TeraStation 7000 series also have an optional back up power supply to ensure stable, continual operation in the event of a power interruption.  The TeraStation 7120r series has optional nearline HDD support for storing mission critical data.

The TeraStation 5000 series feature the Buffalo surveillance server which stores video captured with an IP camera directly on a TeraStation. They can support up to 10 IP cameras per TeraStation.

The TeraStation 5000 and 7000 series also provide iSCSI target utilising existing ethernet infrastructure to process SCSI storage commands, and provide file sharing and iSCSI access simultaneously
