Holographic TV closer than you think

You probably haven’t seen a lot of video holograms but now a new technology might be on the way from a company called RealFiction.

“Help me Obi-Wan, you’re my only hope,” were the words echoing over a planet in George Lucas’ first Star Wars, a title where many of us probably saw our first hologram.

You probably haven’t seen a lot of video holograms before other than the old mirror trick which is often used in theme parks but now a new technology might be on the way from a company called RealFiction.

The new holographic display uses a combination of 3D imagery, holographic projection, and what looks like to be some sort of mirror implementation although to be honest, I’ve got no bloody clue.

At the moment, this technology isn’t for the home space. Requiring just a little bit too much room and a lot too much money, you’re not likely to send out message to starcrossed Padawan lightsabre wielding individuals with it yet.
