Australian-based retailer Harvey Norman has accidentally sold the Lumia 920, the new premium Windows Phone 8 from Nokia, at $100 less than the Lumia 820 and after a brief ruckus decided to honour their mistake!
Harvey Norman will honour the price of ALL orders placed under the incorrect price, confirms Paul Bernhardt, National BM of Technology & Entertainment at Harvey Norman.
Harvey Norman accidentally listed the pricing of the Nokia 920 as worth AU$699 while the lower-grade Lumia 820 was priced a hundred dollars even more – $799.
The error stirred quite a commotion online, with tech forums and Blog comments mounting over whether HN would use regular online terms and conditions to correct the pre-order pricing, offer some sort of part/added value to customers for the inconvenience or indeed honour the pricing error.
I’d say it is quite admirable for HN to cop up to their mistake and deliver value-added service.
The retailer, however, now reverted the current existing pricing of the two phones.
