The world’s largest computer and electronics trade show, CeBit kicked off in Germany and the theme of the event seemed to be Green, with many company’s showing off green technology.
More than 400,000 visitors strolled through the door at the CeBit event in Hanover, Germany to view the latest in consumer tech from 4300 different companies.
Whilst the attendance figures were down on last year, August-Wilhelm Scheer, president of German information and communication Industry association Bitkom, said that the Green IT theme was a success , claiming that the information and communication industry “holds the key to giant social challenges such as climate protection and data privacy.”
Amongst the companies showing their wares was ASUS, which demoed the Eee Keyboard PC, first seen at CES in January. The Eee Keyboard PC packs the functionality of a complete desktop PC into the confined space of a typical keyboard. Also on show, Sun’s energy-efficient car which shared a stage with IBM’s recycled silicon wafers.
And let’s not forget Arnie… Yes the Terminator himself was on hand at CeBit this year – with California the official State partner of the event.
