Microsoft has announced a raft of new games for its Xbox Live Arcade service. You will need to cash in some Microsoft points to download the games.
First upo is Trials Evolution, which can be purchased for 1200 Microsoft points. You bust out of a warehouse into an outdoor world of night and day, curved driving lines, and cool scenery. Build your own tracks with the in-game editor or download those of any other player from the new Track Central. Users can customise their bike and rider with gear and unique parts, try ghost racing, and then try and beat their friends.
Bloodforge is available for 1200 points and is said to offer a “brutal combat system, stunning art style, and a deeply compelling story”. Gamers have to slaughter hordes of demonic soldiers, deformed worshippers, and the gods themselves, using Rage Kills, Rune attacks, and Weapon Combos.
By comparison Fable Heroes is a bargain at 800 Microsoft Points – if you like G-rated fare. It is claimed to deliver “a fresh spin on the Fable franchise with a unique art style and gameplay that takes playful competition to the next level”. Up to four players work together to defeat enemies while also competing with one another to collect gold coins and level up. Gold collected in Fable Heroes can be imported into the forthcoming Kinect title, Fable: The Journe, providing players with a valuable head start from day one.
Finally there is the Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, which should please fans of the popular online game. At a cost of 1600 Microsoft points, the game features an innovative new crafting interface, natural controller movements, a full Tutorial mode to teach the basics and for the first time in “Minecraft,” split-screen multiplayer as well as over Xbox Live.
