Budget Dell Notebook Might Do The Trick

A new Dell notebook may be light on features, but good on price

Britain is one of the first countries to get the Dell Mini 10v, a scaled down version of the Mini 10 iteration, which will be going on sale for about AUD$300.

It comes with 8GB of flash memory instead of the usual 160GB of memory in its bigger brother. Also missing is Windows XP (you get Linex), and the resolution is slightly lower, and the processor is only 1.6GHz.

For those on a budget and don’t need huge functionality or speed, this might be the ideal travel companion. There has been no announcement when the unit will be available in Australia, although the Mini 10 goes for $849.
