With Bigpond Movies, Telstra is looking to make your trip to the local video store a thing of the past, with a library of more than 1400 On Demand movies and TV shows for you to download and watch within minutes.

The company distribution deals with some of the big players in the movie market including Disney, Warner Bros and Sony. People who subscribe to the service have 7 days to watch it, and once you’ve started you have 2 days to finish it.

The Bigpond Movies interface is simple to use and browse. You can flick through all the genres of movies available, such as comedy, war, drama, animation, blockbuster and so on– pretty much every genre of film there is.

You can also search for films by your favourite director, or favourite actor. Just type in the name of the person you’re a fan of, and Bigpond Movies will not only list the catalogue available, but also recommend similar titles you may be interested in.

Once you’ve downloaded your movie, you can pause, fast forward and rewind through the movie, just like a DVD player.
