Well Google Goggles is one app that will do all that for you.

Google Goggles is designed to make search even easier. But this Google App is specific for searching images, locations and objects. Designed to be used on most mobile phones including BlackBerries, and the newer Android-based phones, too, all you need to do is take a photo of a landmark, object or even someone famous, and Google will return pages of search results of the subject.

Google Goggles will also provide information about any points of interest nearby directly in the camera preview.
