Nokia Offers Free Music Streaming Service in US

Nokia Lumia owners in the United States will get free access to the company’s free music streaming service called Nokia Music starting today, the Finnish company said.

 

The Windows Phone handset maker has indicated that it has a US-based team of musicologists who will run and keep the 150 playlists of multi-genre songs updated. Tracks range from underground Detroit house tracks to classical favourites from the New York Philharmonic. 

 

Contemporary pop artists like Lady Gaga, Lana Del Re, and Rihanna also contributed their own playlists to Nokia Music service. Nokia launched Music last year during the Windows Phone gadget maker’s Nokia World event.

 

This totally-free service comes without the annoying advertisements that are often played before and after a song is being played.

 

Then apart from the curated playlists, Nokia Music lets users to create and customise their own personal tracks out of a library of millions of songs that are available at the music service. 

 

There is also the so-called “Gig Finder,” which locates the user’s position so it can pinpoint which events like concerts and gigs are taking place near the area of the user. 

 

Since playlists can be played offline, users can enjoy and explore music using their Lumia handsets whenever, wherever they may be.
