Geeksphone’s other project aside from the Blackphone also offers something unique to consumers in contrast to other mainstream smartphone manufacturers. Unlike releases from Samsung, Sony, LG or other brands, the Geeksphone Revolution comes with a multi-operating system interface that will allow consumers to boot into Android and an “alternative OS”.

Unfortunately, the term alternative OS applies loosely only to those that have close affinity to Android. According to Geaksphone, the Revolution will run Android and users can boot into the auxiliary OS afterwards.

At this point, the only candidate for the “alternative OS” would be Firefox OS which can be loaded into the smartphone using Boot2Gecko. Geeksphone mentioned that any other community supported OS will be compatible with the Revolution.

As for specs, the Revolution will have a 4.7-inch display with qHD resolution, 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and an 8MP rear camera with flash. Geeksphone hasn’t announced any information yet on pricing and availability.
