Motorola Mobility today introduced two new additions to its Razr smartphone family in Australia, both featuring the Android operating system.

Motorola Razr HD is said to be an all-day phone, with long-lasting battery performance while Motorola Razr M is designed with a big screen in a compact body, fitting in the palm of the hand.

Available on Telstra’s 4G-enabled network, the Motorola Razr HD is now available in-store and online for $5 per month on the $60 Telstra Every Day Connect Plan (min cost over 24 monthsafter using a MRO bonus is $1560). The Motorola Razr M will be available from early November for $0 upfront on the $60 Telstra Every Day Connect Plan (min cost over 24 monthsafter using a MRO bonus is $1440.)

The new Motorola Razr HD provides customers with non-stop high definition entertainment. It has a 4.7-inch HD display with a 2500mAH battery and Smartactions, which allows users to talk, text, tweet and browse – all day long.

Motorola Razr M has a big screen into a phone that fits in the palm of your hand. Its super AMOLED 4.3-inch display spans the width of the device, providing a borderless appearance. Users can type emails and texts with a wid keyboard, watch YouTube videos and movies on a wider screen and browse the Web with Chrome for Android without squinting. All on a long-lasting battery that’s more powerful than those in many competing devices.

Motorola Razr M comes with interactive, swipe-by-swipe tutorials that walk users through the setup and help customise the phone to their needs – no instruction manual required.

These new smartphones are made from Corning Gorilla Glass display, DuPont Kevlar fibre and a splash-guard coating.

Google features include:

  • Chrome for Android, giving users a personalised Web experience anywhere you go
  • Google Play, offering access to 600,000+ apps and games, millions of books and thousands of movies
  • Google Maps for Android for voice-guided, turn-by-turn directions
  • Voice Actions for Android
  • Google+, which can automatically upload photos to a private album online
  • YouTube for watching videos and live events in HD quality
  • Android 4.0.4, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Android 4.1,  upgradeable to  Android 4.1, Jelly Bean

Both RAZR M and RAZR HD come with HD Voice support built-in which enables crisper, clearer calls when chatting to friends that have HD Voice compatible handsets on the Telstra Mobile Network.

With Smartactions both Motorola Razr M and HD can adjust preferences, learning when and where users like it quiet or loud, and even when it can switch off certain applications and functions to get the most out of battery life. Set up the S driving rule when users are behind the wheel and they will see only what they need — like access to turn-by-turn directions and your favourite music.

Android Beam allows users to send contacts, links, maps and more, directly to compatible phones. Users simply hold the phones together and tap the screen.
