Writing On Wall for Paper Manuals

Ubisoft will no longer be producing paper manuals for its games

Game maker Ubisoft has announced that they will attempt to reduce their carbon footprint by ceasing to create paper manuals for all their games, with the first game to come without a manual being Shaun White Skateboarding.

From that point on says the company, no paper manuals will be included in Ubisoft games, being replaced by a digital manual on the disc.

According to Ubisoft, “Internal data shows that producing one ton of paper used in Ubisoft’s game manuals consumes an average of two tons of wood from 13 trees, equivalent to the average heating and energy for one home per year, greenhouse gases equivalent of over 6,000 lbs of CO2, and wastewater of almost 4000 litres.”
