Vodafone Red customers eligible for a free subscription to the Sydney Morning Herald or The Age

Vodafone yesterday announced that new and upgrading Vodafone Red customers are now eligible to receive a free digital subscription to either the Sydney Morning or Herald (SMH) or The Age. The offer runs parallel to what Vodafone has now called the entertainment pack; a recently announced promotion offering new customers a free subscription to Spotify Premium. Vodafone's Red plan customers will have the option to pick one of the two offers.

“The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age are leaders in delivering breaking news, information, sport and entertainment to Australians on mobile devices,” said Stephen Smyth, Vodafone’s General Manager of Postpaid. “You only need to look around on a train, bus or tram during the morning commute to know that more people are getting their news via their smartphone or tablet than ever before. Data usage is climbing every year and it’s this sort of premium content that’s driving it.”

Customers on a 24-month Vodafone Red contracts are eligible for the following: a 6 month subscription to the SMH, The Age or Spotify Premium on an AUD$70 per month Red plan, a 12 month subscription to the SMH, The Age or Spotify Premium on a AUD$80 per month Red plan, or a 12 month subscription to the SMH or The Age or a 24 month subscription to Spotify Premium on an AUD$100 per month Red plan.

Customers on a 12-month Vodafone Red contracts are eligible for the following: a 6 month subscription to the SMH, The Age or Spotify Premium on an AUD$70 per month Red plan, or a 12 month subscription to the SMH, The Age or Spotify Premium on a AUD$80 or AUD$100 per month Red plan.

A Vodafone spokesperson confirmed that existing customers will be able to transfer to an eligible Red plan at no extra charge and without extending their contract.
