Vodafone offers free international roaming on $100 per month plans

Vodafone today announced that it will waive the AUD$5 per day international roaming fee for customers on its AUD$100 Red plan, AUD$100 Red Business plan, AUD$130 Red Business plan and AUD$130 Red Business Grow plan on a 24 month contract. The change will allow customers on the aforementioned plans to use their monthly plan inclusions while overseas for no extra daily charge. This offer is available in 47 international locations including New Zealand, the United States of America, Germany and England. A complete list of locations is available on Vodafone's Complimentary Roaming page.

Research commissioned Vodafone found that one in two Australians keep their phones turned off while overseas in fear of bill shock, and one in five have experience bill shock from roaming.

“For most of us, the idea of going without a smartphone for a day would be unthinkable,” said Stephen Smyth, General Manager of Postpaid at Vodafone. “Yet many Australian travellers are turning their phones off or leaving them at home when they go overseas to avoid bill shock.”

Complmentary Roaming is available to new or upgrading customers signing-up to a plan before the 3rd of March, 2015.

Vodafone's announcement follows Telstra's simplified international roaming offering.
