If you’re not that fond of ads appearing on your Facebook newsfeed, the social network have more bad news for you as it announced that it has started rolling out video ads into users’ news feed after several months of testing.

Fortunately, the social network indicated that they will make the ads very discrete. The ads will play automatically as they would appear on the screen but will play with no sound and stop once the user scrolls past it. The sound will only be turned on once the user actively clicks the video. The videos will only play for a short amount of time and will only appear on newsfeeds of targeted audience.

On the advertisers’ side, pricing will be dictated by a third party company and the ads will be screened by a television and video analytics firm called Ace Metrix. Ads will be judged according to watchability, meaningfulness and emotional resonance.
