The microblogging site appears to be testing a new feature on its iOS app that will serve users with videos when they use a specific hashtag in their tweets.

According to Recode.net, a number of users have reported that they were offered video clips from the new Seth McFarlane movie when they use the hashtag #amillionwaystodieinthewest. The suggested videos appear within the tweet in a similar manner when a user embeds a YouTube clip or uploaded a video file from their smartphone.

At the moment, it looks like the video suggestion feature only appears on Twitter’s iOS app and only as a partnership with certain content providers. For now, it seems like Twitter might just be doing an experiment but if this feature becomes successful, it certainly adds a lot of value to users’ tweets and can potentially be an added revenue stream for Twitter.

Nonetheless, it looks like we might be seeing more videos on our Twitter feed in the very near future, one way or another.
