Toshiba recently announced its new Kirabook L93 – a 7-in-1 multimode laptop that runs on Windows 8. The device is mix between the company’s just updated Satellite Click laptops and the 5-in-1 laptop that the company showcased at CES last January, which featured a removable keyboard.

The laptop basically has the same modes as the Toshiba Satellite Click and Radius but it has the option to detach the base when in display mode and has a slightly inclined tablet mode. The Kirabook L93 has a 13-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a full chiclet-style keyboard. Toshiba went a little crazy with the L93 especially in the buttons department.

There’s no trackpad on the L93 so users will definitely need to maximise the touchscreen. The trackpad is replaced by a joystick at the center of the keyboard while right and left click buttons are at the bottom of the keyboard.

The Kirabook L93 will be equipped with an Intel Core i5 Haswell processor, 128GB SSD and 8GB of RAM and will be priced at around $2600. Toshiba has only announced the device’s availability in Japan so we’re still waiting for more details about when the device will ship to other markets.
