TomTom Start Aims At GPS For Everyone

TomTom’s latest foray into the GPS device market is an entry level unit designed for the everyman.

TomTom Start is specifically designed for all drivers, and makes a great introduction for young and old to the benefits of GPS car navigation, says TomTom of its newest device in the GPS space.

The TomTom Start comes with a 3.5-inch touch screen and even easier to use menu. The Spoken Street Names features means drivers will never miss a turn, while the integrated fold and go EasyPort mount, makes the whole navigation package fit into any pocket, small bag or glove compartment.

“With the introduction of TomTom Start, navigation has never been so accessible,” claims says Chris Kearney, Marketing Manager TomTom, Australia and New Zealand. ” We have redefined ease of use and taken affordable navigation to the next level – and this is done while always providing drivers with the fastest route to their destination with TomTom IQ Routes.”

TomTom’s IQ Routes technology provides Start users with the fastest route, no matter the time of day, with accurate travel times. This is achieved with TomTom’s database of over 800 billion speed profiles worldwide, which are included in the TomTom Start map so that routes are planned according to historical real average speeds.

TomTom’s Latest Map Guarantee ensures users are guaranteed to start with the latest Whereis map and TomTom Map Share allows users to get daily updates via free TomTom HOME software.

The TomTom Start also includes an array of safety features including safety camera locations (red light and speed), visual and audible warnings when driving over the speed limit and the Help me! menu for one touch assistance when required.

For personalisation, users can go to their TomTom HOME desktop software and download a wealth of content, including start-up screens and a range of fun voices.
