The all new Kindle Oasis will cost you iPad dollars, but has a battery life measured in months

Amazon overnight unveiled the Kindle Oasis, a redesigned flagship e-reader that promises better one-handed usability and months of standby battery life (Amazon isn't specifying an exact figure).

In addition to a new shape (said to rest in one's hand ike the spine of a book), the device itself is 30% thinner and 20% lighter than past Kindles, weighing in at just 131g. The Kindle Oasis will also ship with an leather charging cover that will continuously top up the reader's internal battery, although Amazon hasn't disclosed cumulative battery. Without the cover, Amazon says the Oasis lasts for "up to eight weeks, based on half an hour of reading per day with wireless off and light setting at 10".
