Telstra increases mobile data caps, doesn’t charge arm and leg

Telstra today announced that it will increase the data caps on it its 24-month Mobile Accelerate, 12-month BYO and casual month-by-month plans. Customers will be able to sign for these plans from April 9. They are as follows:

The AUD$55 per month Mobile Accelerate plan now includes 1GB of data, up from 500MB
The AUD$70 per month Mobile Accelerate plan now includes 2.5GB of data, up from 1.5GB
The AUD$95 per month Mobile Accelerate plan now includes 6GB of data, up from 2.5.GB
The AUD$130 per month Mobile Accelerate plan now includes 10GB of data, up from 3GB

The AUD$45 per month BYO plan now includes 2GB of data, up from 500MB
The AUD$55 per month BYO plan now includes 3.5GB of data, up from 1.5GB
The AUD$70 per month BYO plan now includes 6GB of data, up from 2.5GB
The AUD$95 per month BYO plan now includes 10GB of data, up from 3GB

The AUD$55 per month Casual plan now includes 2GB of data, up from 500MB
The AUD$70 per month Casual plan now includes 3.5GB of data, up from 1.5GB
The AUD$95 per month Casual plan now includes 6GB of data, up from 2.5GB
The AUD$130 per month Casual plan now includes 10GB of data, up from 3GB

Until April 27, customers signing up for a 12 month BYO plan will receive an extra gigabyte of data for the life of their plan.

Telstra also announced that it will gift new subscribers a free six month Presto subscription.
