Streaming service Spotify may be popular among a music lovers but it has a number of limitations and restriction that are preventing a lot of users from fully enjoying the service. Fortunately, this week announced that it will be loosening some of its stipulations so users can listen to as much music as they want. The trade-off is that free service will now be powered by ads.

Following Spotify’s move, Rdio also announced that it will be removing all caps on free-ad-supported streaming on the web. Similar to Spotify’s strategy, user will be treated with some announcements about new features, Rdio exclusives, some tips on using the service and traditional ads in between songs.

Coincidentally, the two streaming services announced these revisions to their services after a new streaming service – Beats Music made headlines ahead of its announcement.
