Sony’s Xperia Z tablet that was released just last year is arguably one of the best designed tablets we’ve seen in the market lately. And apparently Sony is planning to upgrade the tablet with more powerful specs and an even thinner profile.

The information comes from popular leakster @evleaks posted information about the tablet’s specs on his Twitter account. The new tablet will reportedly retain the 10.1-inch display as well as the WUXGA resolution from its predecessor.

In terms of internals, the new tablet will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip with a 2.3GHz quad-core processor and 3GB of RAM. It will also have at the very least 16GB of internal memory with support for expansion via a microSD card.

The tablet should also pack an 8MP camera at the back and a 2MP snapper at the front. According to evleaks, the Xperia Z tablet 2 will run on Android 4.4 KitKat and will be powered by a 6000mAh battery. Moreover, the body will be much thinner with Sony shaving off 0.5mm from the original Xperia Z tablet.
