Solar energy put to the test

Clean power will always be something that gets people attention and a new solar farm just being finished now will put solar energy to a commercial test. Cleantech America are putting the finishing touches on an 80-megawatt solar energy farm that will supply “30 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually and supply approximately 25-percent of the power” to Nellis Air Force Base where 12,000 people live and work.

It’s taken 140 acres of land and 72,000 solar panels to get to this point, but it serves as an excellent test as to how viable solar energy is for the future.
