Samsung Working On A Kid-Friendly Tablet

It’s not very common that you see a manufacturer build a device with a very specific consumer group in mind. Samsung has been one of those few companies that make special edition devices for a specific set of customers.

This week, images of a Galaxy Tab version designed for kids in line with Korea’s back-to-school season were prematurely leaked by one of the company’s retailer. The leaked tablet sport a fancy and colourful body, a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board memory that is expandable via a microSD card.

The tablet weighs around 302g and sports a profile that’s 9.9 thick. There’s also a 4000mAh battery and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The device will also provide several colour options to consumers, parental locks and built-in content suitable for children.

There’s no information yet on pricing but as stated earlier, the purported Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids may be initially released in Korea as the country enters its back-to-school season. Whether the device will be shipped internationally remains a mystery, but we’ll certainly give you the detes once we get word.
