One fruit over the other: Apple takes on BlackBerry

A new report today that Apple is now beating out Research In Motion’s (RIM) BlackBerry device for control of Smartphone market share.

Move over BlackBerry because Apple are coming to take your customers.

Ars Technica is today reporting that Apple is now beating out Research In Motion’s (RIM) BlackBerry device for control of Smartphone market share.

While Apple’s 17.3% marketshare isn’t nearly as high as Smartphone leader Nokia with 38.9%, it is now marginally ahead of the BlackBerry world share at 15.2%.

But all of this might just be a temporary thing what with the BlackBerry Bold just now launching in America after being on the market for a couple of months here as well as the imminent release of the BlackBerry Storm, RIM’s first touchscreen device that is drawing a lot of media coverage.
