New Take On DS

The rumour mill is in overdrive about the latest offering from Nintendo in its portable console space.

Tech site Crunchgear is reporting it has some inside information on the next iteration of the Nintendo DS portable gaming console.

New features are claimed to include:

  • “Two screens, larger in both size and resolution and close enough together that they can be used as one big screen.
  • Built-in accelerometer
  • Processing power comparable to that of the GameCube”.

With portability and gaming capability coming to a lot of devices, the likes of the DSi and PSP need to up the ante to make their consoles more attractive to consumers. Added functionality like those mentioned above will help, but some gaming pundits are also stating that the DS gaming store needs to be easier to use.
