Trend Micro looks like it will continue its dominance of the mobile security market with the announcement of its latest upgrades to Trend Micro mobile security for Android and iOS devices.

The key changes to the existing mobile security for android in version 5.0 include a malware cleaner, which detects malware that use administrator privileges on rooted devices and a strengthened scan function, which provides assessments and functions against app actions such as personal data collection and data loss.

Trend Micro has also launched the in-App we browser, SafeSurfing, for secure access to unknown websites across both iOS and Android. This part of the app allows you to test a link out prior to opening it in your default browser, effectively giving you a safe zone in which to temporarily test content.

The other features of the software package all remain in place including the popular privacy scanner for Facebook and the lost device protection features.
