Motorola Officially Announces The Moto G

After prematurely appearing on Motorola’s website, the Moto G is now official. The phone is built around a 4.5-inch 720p screen with Corning’s Gorilla Glass Panel on top. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU. The smartphone is also equipped with 1GB of RAM, an Adreno 305 GPU and comes with either 8GB or 16GB of on-board storage.

In the imaging department, the Moto G boasts a 5MP camera with an LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. There’s also a 1.3MP front-facing camera that is capable of capturing 720p videos.

The Moto G has a 1950mAh battery that is not removable. Motorola is also offering different colour options for the phone’s back cover which can be removed and swapped with other colours.

According to Motorola they will ship the Moto G to 30 countries over 60 different carriers starting 2014, with some part of Europe and Brazil getting the smartphone today. The Motorola Moto G will retail for $179 and $199 for the 8GB and 16GB respectively.
