LG has just announced its newest line of smartphones meant for the entry-level and mid-range market. The new L-Series III will be composed of three models – the LG L90, L70 and L40, which will all be showcased at MWC in Barcelona next week.

The LG L90 will have a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a 4.7-inch qHD display (960 x 540 pixels) an 8MP main camera and a 1.3MP front-facing at the front. The smartphone will pack a 2540mAh removable battery.

Standing at the centre of the L-series III is the L70 which boasts a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, a 4.5-inch WVGA (800 x 400 pixels) IPS display, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and either an 8MP or a 5MP snapper at the back depending on the market the handset will be sold.

Bringing up the rear is the LG L40 which packs a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 4GB of built-in memory, 512MB of RAM and either a 1700 or a 1500mAh battery.

Meanwhile, owners of HTC’s One X and One X+ have a reason to celebrate. The Taiwanese smartphone maker has revealed that is actively exploring the possibility of providing an update to the said devices to Android 4.4 at least for those in the US or has imported a device from the US.
