The tech space had another great run this week. Not only is the newest season of CyberShack back on air but there are also a couple of news that will certainly get a number of fans very happy.

For starters, Chinese manufacturer Huawei has confirmed that they are now prepping an upgrade for its Ascend P6 smartphone that will feature a new chipset with an octa-core CPU.

The news was confirmed by the company’s president Xu Xin Quan himself through the Weibo blogging platform. The smartphone will be known as the Huawei Ascend P6S and will come with a true octa-core processor. There is little known about the upcoming smartphone but we do expect its release to be sometime next year.

In other news, the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Google Play edition of the HTC One may soon be released. According to HTC, the KitKat ROM for the HTC One GPE has now been submitted to Google for approval.

Once approved, the ROM will soon be seeded and delivered to actual HTC One GPE owners. The company wasn’t able to provide a time frame on when this update will reach end consumers but this shouldn’t take long.
