So far we've only known the upcoming iteration of Windows by its codename, Threshold, but Microsoft China appear to have jumped the gun and confirmed the new operating system will be known as Windows 9. Microsoft China asked "Microsoft's latest OS Windows 9 is coming soon, do you think the start menu at the left button will make a come back?" in a posting on Chinese social media platform Weibo. This post was accompanied by a mock-up of a Windows 9 logo, and subsequently removed.

Microsoft is expected to hold a press event introducing Windows 9 on September 30, alongside the release of a technical preview for developers.

Here are five features we'd like to see in Microsoft's latest and (hopefully) greatest.
