LG is reportedly planning to add a new model in its affordable L-Series III of entry-level and midrange phones with the recently leaked L80.

The L80 will join the ranks of the LG L90, L70 and L40 and will boast a 5-inch display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. The device will be powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1Gb of RAM and 4GB of internal storage that is expandable via a microSD card.

The L80 will also have 2540mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. LG has also added some of its signature app in this phone most notably, the LG Knock Code, which allows users to unlock their device by tapping on the screen in a specific pattern.

LG’s latest L handset will also come in a dual-SIM version, with four capacitive touch buttons, while the single-SIM version will likely have a physical home button just like the other handsets in the range.

There’s no word yet on pricing and availability but we’ll do keep an eye on this handset if ever the Korean manufacturer decides to make an official announcement.
