Lenovo’s Golden Warrior S8 is nowhere from being the ultra-luxury smartphone you’d come to expect from a phone whose name bears the world “Golden”.

The Chinese tech giant’s recent phone has emerged out of China and features considerably respectable performance. The S8 packs a 1.4GHz MediaTek octa-core processor, a 5.3-inch 720p display, 16GB of expandable memory, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP+5MP camera combo, a 2000mAh battery and support for two SIM cards. There’s even a Gorilla Glass 3 panel on top of the display.

Unfortunately, the phone runs a slightly outdated version of Android – version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but with a price tag of AU$139, it’s not that surprising to see some compromise.

At the moment, it doesn’t look like Lenovo will bring the S8 outside China, but with its specs coupled with its affordable price tag, we do hope that Lenovo would change its mind and bring it – say in Australia?
