Larger iPhone 6 could be delayed until 2015

Apple's rumoured 5.5" iPhone 6 variant (also known as the iPhone Air) could be delayed until 2015 due to production issues, according to a report from the KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Apple's rumoured 5.5" iPhone 6 variant (also known as the iPhone Air) could be delayed until 2015 due to production issues, according to a report from the KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo suggests the 4.7" model is currently facing production issues relating to unresponsive touch screen panels and colour unevenness in the metal casing. Given the increased size of the 5.5" model, these issues are magnified. In addition, early rumours about the 5.5" iPhone mentioned issues with the device's battery life.

If the 5.5" iPhone model isn't delayed to next year, it is likely that quantities will be very limited. Apple is expected to announce the 4.7" and 5.5" iPhones in September.
