Kogan Mobile switching on 4G by June

Budget telco Kogan Mobile will give both new and existing 4G access by June with no increase in cost. Currently powered by Vodafone's 3G network, Kogan Mobile differentiates itself from other providers with a range of affordable smartphone plans starting at AUD$16.95 per month. Customers are also able to take out plans for 90 day and 365 day periods, for a slight monthly discount.

For example, Kogan's AUD$16.95 1XL recharge gives customers unlimited talk and text, and 1GB of data. Customers can take out the same plan for a year for AUD$179.95 (with 1GB of data given to the customer every 30 days), which works out to be a saving of about AUD$2 per month.

Kogan Mobile's announcement follows news that both Aldi Mobile and Woolworths Mobile will be turning on 4G services in May
