Kinect Arrives November

Microsoft has announced that the Kinect for Xbox 360 will be available from most retailers on November 18, 2010.

David McLean, Managing Director of Xbox Australia & New Zealand presenting today at Microsoft Open House said, “This November, we will transform entertainment in Australia forever by making Aussies the controller. Kinect for Xbox 360 makes you the controller and brings a whole new level of fun and interactivity with your Xbox 360. We have no doubt a whole new generation of consumers will jump into the controller free era, making it accessible to people who have never before picked up a game controller.

"We see it as an opportunity for families to come together, bridging the generation gap when it comes to technology. We’re already seeing a high level of anticipation in Australia with outstanding sales of Kinect ready Xbox 360 250GB since its launch in June.”

McLean added that consumer and retailer feedback indicates Kinect for Xbox 360 is expected to be the one of the biggest gifts for Christmas this year, and consumers are urged to pre-order to secure before launch stock sells out.

Jason Lewis (Sex and the City) was on hand at Microsoft Open House to demonstrate the Kinect Adventures game, which comes bundled with every Kinect for Xbox 360. “I can’t wait to play this with all my friends. It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced before. The ease of use and how well it works makes playing a whole new level of fun and everything else obsolete,” he said.

Michelle Bridges (The Biggest Loser) also showcased the exciting Your Shape: Fitness Evolved. "This is so revolutionary and a massive step in making fitness fun and also rewarding. With workouts personalized for your body, your fitness level, and your goals, it’s easy to get the most out of your workout now with Xbox 360,” she said.
