Apple today announced that its iTunes Radio service is now available to users in Australia.

The service which was first unveiled at last year’s WWDC offers over 100 stations and massive catalogue of music from the iTunes store. iTunes Radio also makes it easy for consumers to create their own mix based on the songs and artists they like and provides access to stations curated by Apple and guest musicians.

iTunes Radio is available for the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC or Apple TV. It’s ad-supported and free for everyone. Those looking for an ad-free experience can also opt for iTunes Match for AU$34.99 a year.

At present, Spotify and Rdio are the service’s biggest competitors in Australia. So iTunes Radio already has some tough competition to beat and it remains uncertain if it will be able to sway customers to its camp especially when its competitors have already established a foot hold in the market.
